“Yet we have the same spirit of faith as he had who wrote in Scripture, ‘I believed, therefore I spoke.’ We also believe, therefore we also speak.” – 2 Corinthians 4:13

As God’s people, we have to walk and live a life of faith. The promises of God come alive by faith. Faith makes the invisible visible. It makes God’s hand visible in our lives. God doesn’t care where you come from, whether you come from money, or who you know. God is simply looking for people with faith.

Hebrews 11:1 says, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” I love those first two words: now faith. FAITH IS NOW. Faith is not tomorrow, if it is tomorrow, that is hope. Faith brings what is in the future into present reality today. The God we serve is not the great “I Was.” He is the great I Am. He is the ever-present God, the ever-present Healer, and the ever-present Deliverer.

The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 4:13, “I believed, therefore I spoke. We also believe, therefore we also speak.” Here we see two very important parts of walking by faith: firstly, we believe, and secondly, we speak. The Bible says that death and life are in the power of the tongue. Even to get saved, you have to believe in your heart and confess with your mouth. It is not enough to just believe. Faith has a voice, and faith gets God’s attention.

Think of blind Bartimaeus. When he heard that Jesus was passing by, he began to cry out, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” The people told him to be quiet, but he cried out even louder. Faith isn’t timid. Faith doesn’t whisper. Faith shouts. Faith rises up. Faith runs. Faith jumps out of the boat. His faith got the attention of Jesus.

We see the same thing with Paul and Silas in Acts 16. They were beaten, chained, and locked in prison. In that moment, it looked as though the devil had won. But the devil forgot one thing when he locked Paul and Silas up, he forgot to cover their mouths. At midnight they began to pray and sing praises to God, and suddenly there was an earthquake. The prison doors opened and their chains came loose. Not only were Paul and Silas affected, but the other prisoners were set free too.

Your life of faith is not only about you. It is for your family, your friends, people you have never met, villages, and nations. Your faith can become somebody else’s breakthrough. God has a holy calling for you. You are not a mistake or an accident. He has a great plan for your life, and He wants you to shake your generation.

Today, take your faith from simply believing that God is able, to believing that God is willing. When the man with leprosy came to Jesus in Matthew 8, he said, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.” Jesus stretched out His hand, touched him and said, “I am willing.”

God is willing to touch you. God is willing to save you. God is willing to use you. Believe His Word, come into agreement with it, and then speak it. We have the same spirit of faith. We believe, therefore we speak.
