“Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” – Acts 3:6
God wants us to be carriers of Him – carriers of His power and His glory. The Bible says, “Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world.” God has given us something to overcome the plans of the devil, and the power He has given us is not different from the power of the early Church. We have the same resurrection power!
In Acts 3, Peter and John came across a man who had been lame from birth and was begging outside the temple. When he looked to them expecting to receive something, Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you.” Peter and John understood that they carried something different from the rest of the world. In the name of Jesus, they commanded the man to rise up and walk, and instantly he was made whole. He went away walking, leaping, and praising God.
When the people looked at Peter and John in amazement, Peter said, “Why do you look so intently at us, as though by our own power or godliness we had made this man walk?” They understood that it was not their own power. They were simply witnesses of His resurrection. We are not witnesses of a dead Jesus. We are witnesses of a Jesus who is alive – a Jesus who still heals, still delivers, and still does miracles today.
The Bible tells us that the same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead now dwells in us and gives life to our mortal bodies. That same life-giving Spirit is inside of you. You cannot give away what you do not have. You cannot give away resurrection power if you are not carrying resurrection power. You cannot give away life if you are not carrying life.
Jesus said in John 7 that out of our innermost being would flow rivers of living water. God is not meant to be in you like a dam or a lake. There is a river that is meant to flow out of you. Ezekiel 47 tells us that everywhere the river flowed, there was life. Today, under the New Covenant, you are the temple of God. You are to carry His resurrection power and give it away.
Paul prayed in Ephesians 1 that the eyes of our hearts would be enlightened so that we would understand what we have inside of us. He describes the power available to those who believe as immeasurable, unlimited, and surpassing in greatness – the very power that raised Jesus Christ from the dead. How can you be weak when you realise what you carry?
God wants you to understand what you have. This power is not only for pastors, evangelists, or people behind a microphone. Whether you are a mother, a father, a teacher, an accountant, or a driver, God desires to use your life in a great way. When you encounter Him, you become an encounter for somebody else.
Ephesians 3:20 says that God is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us. That resurrection power is not merely around you – it is working IN YOU.
Today, realise what you carry. The same Jesus who raised the dead, healed the sick, and set the captives free is alive, and His Spirit lives in you. You are a carrier of His resurrection power. Now go and give away what you carry.
