Key Verse
“For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.” – Romans 8:2
There is a higher law available to every child of God – the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus. Jesus told Nicodemus that to see the Kingdom of God, he had to be born again, or born from above. In other words, there is a higher realm to see from and a better place to live from. You are not just of this world; you are born of God.
The Bible speaks about this life using the Greek word Zoe – the very life of God. We are not simply speaking about natural life; we are speaking about the life of God inside of you. Many times, people think the blessings of the Gospel are only for a life to come, but Jesus said, “Now is the day of salvation,” and that the Kingdom of God is at hand. The Kingdom of God is to be experienced now.
As you know Jesus and experience Him, His life comes alive inside of you, and you begin to live the overcomer’s life. The Bible says that whoever is born of God overcomes the world. Stop saying, “I’m only human.” You are more than just a natural person living on this earth. You are born from above. You have access to live the overcomer’s life.
There may be a law of sin and death operating in this world, but Romans 8 tells us that there is a greater law – the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus. That Zoe life sets you free from the things of this world that are trying to limit you. The Bible says that if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away, and all things have become new.
Think about Jesus sleeping in the boat while a storm raged around Him. The disciples were terrified, but Jesus stood and said, “Peace, be still.” Why? Because He carried peace. He is the Prince of Peace. We cannot allow what is around us to affect what is inside of us; we must allow what is inside of us to affect what is around us.
The good news of the Gospel is that the price has already been paid. On the cross, Jesus declared, “It is finished.” You don’t have to earn what Christ has already purchased for you. Healing is your portion. Freedom is your portion. The Bible says we have been crucified with Christ, and if we died with Him, we have also been raised together with Him. We can now live from a higher power and a higher realm.
There may be many reports speaking over your life – a doctor’s report, a financial report, or the report of your circumstances – but there is a greater report. Isaiah 53 says, “He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities… and by His stripes we are healed.” Choose to believe the report of the Lord.
Today, realise what you have in Christ. You are born of God. You have been made alive with Christ. There is a higher power, and His Name is Jesus. Expect good things. Expect breakthrough. Expect the life of God to work in you and through you. The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made you free!
